Portrait Session Information
Often at your home, at the park, and places that are familiar and meaningful to you, portrait sessions are relaxed way to document you and your family. In and around the brownstones or on the waterfront in Hoboken, Central Park and Dumbo in NYC or at your vacation home in the Shore or Hampton's there are so many beautiful choices! A romp in the fall leaves, sledding or cozy at home in winter, among spring flowers and at the beach in summer, there is always a season for photographs.
Sessions usually last between 1.5-2 hours to get a good range of portraits, candids and different looks and settings. A typical portrait session usually yields approximately 25 unique images.
My approach to family portraiture is to capture you and your family naturally the way you are. The goal is capture natural relaxed and real expressions.

WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD WE SCHEDULE THE SESSION?
Timing the session for when your kids are normally up and about works best. If you have younger kids less then 2 years getting a few napping and capturing a full set of emotions is part of the documentary process.
For most of the year scheduling the shoot to finish before 10 am or commencing after 3pm allows for the best light of the day. This does change with the seasons. Ideally 2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset are the best times, however each shoot is unique.
WHAT DO WE WEAR TO THE SESSION?
This is really up to you, what you wear is another choice that adds to the portrait, we can’t tell you what to wear since we’re there to observe and compose a portrait of you. However, as guidance, we would recommend wearing solid colors and colors that complement eye color.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE EDITING OF IMAGES?
Portraits will be edited and available on-line within three weeks.
